Due to COVID-19 and the “Shelter in Place” order issued for Hidalgo and Cameron County, Val Verde Memorial Gardens is taking the appropriate measure to keep our staff and customers safe and healthy.
We will continue to be available to meet with families to make funeral arrangements. We are now limiting meetings to 2 people per family. Although we are striving to keep regular hours Monday – Friday, be advised that the hours are subject to change, therefore, we strongly advise you and/or the families to call for an appointment to ensure that there is someone at the office to meet with them.
Burial services will be limited to 10 persons. Pallbearers are not included in the requisite. Social distancing will be implemented. We will continue to allow the family to be present for the entire burial service, so long as they maintain distance from the lowering device and the grounds workers.
We are sharing this information with funeral homes and families to ask for your cooperation in helping implement the guidelines.
Val Verde Memorial Gardens has always strived to give our best to the families and maintain great relationships with the funeral homes. We will continue to do so, but under these circumstances, we all need to do our part to ensure the safety and well-being of the entire community.
